Analytics on Central Asia are relevant for a young region that is still experiencing a period of its development. The section is a source of information for a wide range of readers interested in socio-political processes, issues of regional security and economic development, as well as foreign policy in the countries of Central Asia.
Kazakh women in Soviet cinema were deprived of cultural identity, often in favor of the ideological demands of the Soviet administration, for example, in order to emancipate women and attract them to the workforce. The results of a sociological survey conducted by Alisher Gardonshoev, a graduate of the CABAR.Asia School of Analytics, show that the residents of the capital of Tajikistan have an overwhelmingly positive attitude towards sociological surveys. At the same time, a quarter of those surveyed believe that the government should take the results of such surveys into account.
“Women are underrepresented at both the national and local levels. While only a few of them are represented among the Cabinet of Ministers’ 21 members, there is not a single woman among the 40 district leaders or the president’s 7 regional plenipotentiary representatives.
