The results of a sociological survey conducted by Alisher Gardonshoev, a graduate of the CABAR.Asia School of Analytics, show that the residents of the capital of Tajikistan have an overwhelmingly positive attitude towards sociological surveys. At the same time, a quarter of those surveyed believe that the government should take the results of such surveys into account.

Tajik consumers speak of reduced shortages of Russian imports and shortages of a number of goods. According to experts’ calculations, prices of a few goods surged several-fold. Experts believe that Tajikistan needs to diversify imports to escape from excessive dependence on Russian commodity supplies.
Tajikistan’s waste collection and recycling market is underregulated, believes Anisa Abibulloeva, environmental activist and graduate of the CABAR.asia school of analytics. In her opinion, this creates both risks and opportunities for the different parties involved in this process — waste collectors, the state, and civil society.
Out of the 95 thousand spousal support payers in Tajikistan, only one thousand officially have arrears in payments. However, experts say the authorities are downplaying the statistics, and in fact, about 90 percent of those payers in Tajikistan don’t fulfill their obligations to support their children. (more…)
