Month in review: Central Asia in March 2020

The beginning of March 2020 in Central Asia was marked by continued courtesy meetings between the countries’ authorities along with persisting rallies and public events. The focus then shifted by mid-March to the spread of coronavirus infection. March is remembered among others for the unprecedented security measures, borders closure, declaration of a state of emergency, general quarantine, depreciation of national currencies, first deaths from coronavirus.
