High concentration of eagerness for new knowledge together with leading figures in various fields has become a starting point for the development of a new generation of analysts.
From April 15 to 21, 2019 in Almaty, with the support of the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR), I had a good opportunity to become one of the program participants for young analysts as part of the School of Analysts cabar.asia. The uniqueness of this program was to create an information and analytical platform to highlight and offer solutions to regional problems using new approaches and analysis methods.
The main achievement was the creation of our large family of analysts, in which each is unique.

A journalist based in Tashkent, Louiza Atabayeva, was wearing a headscarf for a week and told what it was like to hold business meetings, travel by underground, meet boyfriend’s friends and hear personal insults when you wear a headscarf.

In civil aviation, an Open Skies policy means liberalisation and ease of access and rules of use of national airports for foreign airlines. It is joined in order to increase the tourist flow and to develop the potential as a regional air hub.

The topic of “open skies” from the air carriage industry in recent years has increasingly begun to sound both in the media and in the lobbies of the governments of Central Asian countries. The reason for the actualization of this issue is the national interests of each of the states of the region on the development of the domestic aviation industry to increase revenues, increase trade, develop tourism and attract foreign investments.
The latest tendencies indicate that the reforms in the agricultural sector are taking place as promised but the attitude of the government officials toward the farmers have not changed much. The government representatives be they senior Cabinet ministers or local prosecutors are still violating farmers’ rights at will while denigrating treatment and blaming farmers for everything that goes wrong during the harvesting season are still the norm of the day.
The findings of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) regarding cotton-picking in Uzbekistan contradict numerous cases of forced labour reported by human rights activists and journalists.
