This Policy Brief presents comprehensive recommendations for addressing sexual harassment in the workplace. This approach should include legislative reforms, including a revision of the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Companies and workforces in Kazakhstan must also take a systemic approach to addressing sexual harassment. This approach requires the mandatory implementation of corporate policies and the development of mechanisms for regulating cases of sexual harassment both internally and through legislation. Specifically, it is necessary to develop and implement a modern anti-sexual harassment policy and an equal opportunity policy consistent with International Labor Organization standards. Finally, steps must be taken to address the widespread gender inequality in Kazakhstan, which is caused by societal norms and stereotypes associated with each gender. These stereotypes can be addressed by revising school curricula to address the issue from an early age, ensuring greater gender equality for future generations.
