I was at my office working when Sergey (Sergey Marinin, IWPR’s project manager in Central Asia – ed.) called me and asked if I would like to do a two-week internship in Georgia. Considering my professional activity and background in one of the independent and leading analytical centers of Uzbekistan, the internship in Georgia turned out to be very in time and useful in terms of studying the experience of the prominent think tanks of this country.

Kazakhstan, unlike Georgia, is in crisis, which it has successfully overcome some time ago. However, according to the studies, mere repetition of some reforms won’t fit the Central Asian states.
