Starting from November 26, New Year’s trees were installed in some of the capital’s parks, and on December 2, the grand opening of the central New Year’s tree was held in the capital. The free open-air concerts and artists’ performances are held every day at 6 PM.
The markets and supermarkets announced discounts for goods, especially for sweets and cosmetics. This year, the mass events’ visitors are recommended to wear the masks and observe social distance.
Despite the pandemic, people are trying to put themselves in a better mood by visiting New Year’s fairs, parks, and grocery markets.
In 2020, winter came earlier than usual in Tashkent. The first snow fell in November, and the temperature dropped to 10 degrees below zero at night. The ‘warm rooms’ were installed in some parks, where people can warm up. Such rooms keep the temperature of 10 degrees above zero, at 2 degrees below zero outside.
The largest New Year’s tree of the country will be installed on December 20.
