The Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in partnership with the Public Foundation “Wings of Liberty” invites you to participate in the final offline event, “Project Results and Sustainability Strategy,” which will take place on November 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM in Astana. The event is part of the “Kazakhstan Uncensored” project, funded by the European Union. The project’s goal is to promote and protect freedom of speech and digital rights in Kazakhstan and to provide Kazakhstani citizens with reliable information about their rights.
About the Event This is the concluding event of the project, where the results achieved will be summarized, and further steps to ensure the project’s sustainability will be discussed. The program includes presentations, a panel discussion on the topic of freedom of speech in Kazakhstan, exchange of opinions, and, of course, coffee breaks for networking.
Special prizes are prepared for the most active and attentive participants, which will be a pleasant addition to their participation in the event. Additionaly, at the end of the main part of the event, those who wish may stay and take part in a unique board game developed as part of the project with the involvement of a psychologist. This game, focused on self-censorship, will help participants gain a deeper understanding of the importance of controlling and directing their thoughts and actions and provide many engaging and beneficial moments for better self-awareness. Those who wish to attend solely for the game will have the opportunity to register.
Who Can Participate? We invite activists, representatives of civil society and organizations, as well as anyone interested who has participated in the project or is keen on the issues of freedom of speech and digital rights in Kazakhstan.
