Shymkent, Kazakhstan – May 17-18, 2024
For the first time, the regional Go Viral Festival will be held in Shymkent on May 17-18.
Organized with the support of the U.S. Consulate General in Almaty, the festival brings together experts and activists from media, business, culture, and technology. The event program is available here.
The main theme of the festival is “Go Viral Central Asia: Past. Present. Future.” This year’s festival focuses on the creative industry and is a platform for the exchange of ideas and business and cultural innovation. Miras University is a key partner of the festival.
This year will feature over 30 speakers and experts discussing issues related to cultural heritage, contemporary trends, and the future of Central Asia. Entrepreneurs will share their experiences of effectively running a creative business. Participants will learn about modern brand promotion social media strategies, and working with influencers. Experienced specificalists will present on topics such as web development, animation, and the use of artificial intelligence. Additionally, festival participants will engage in discussions about emerging industries and the growing popularity of esports.

The Go Viral Festival & Network is an annual regional festival and platform for networking and community building among representatives of media, business, culture, and technology in Central Asian countries. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of State and supported by the U.S. Diplomatic Missions in Central Asia.
Since October 2021, the project has been implemented by the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in Central Asia.
