IWPR activities in Central Asia
On the 24th of June, the Representative Office of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in Central Asia, its regional analytical platform CABAR.asia and the OSCE Academy in Bishkek organized an international online discussion, devoted to “Implications of COVID-19 on Climate Change”. On June 23, 2020, IWPR and CABAR.asia, together with the Uzbek non-governmental scientific institution “Caravan of Knowledge” (“Bilim Karvoni”) held an online discussion on effectiveness of public administration (the work of state institutions) in the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic in Uzbekistan. The event was attended by experts from Uzbekistan.
On June 11, 2020, IWPR and CABAR.asia held an online event inviting experts from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to discuss issues related to the EEU strategy amidst the crisis. (more…)

“Prepare yourselves for new challenges, discoveries and inspirations”. These words became the slogan of the four day online workshop “The last word in new media”, which was held from May 26 to 29, 2020 as part of the IWPR mentoring program.
On the 29th of May the Representative Office of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in Central Asia, its regional analytical platform CABAR.asia and Chatham House – the Royal Institute of International Affairs organized a joint online event related to the COVID-19 crisis and its effect on Central Asian countries.
During the video conference, participants discussed the situation with coronavirus in four Central Asian countries and plans for future collaboration.
The first online marathon on creation of caption video was held on April 15 to 29 by the team of trainers: Azat Ruziev and Tilek Beishenaliev from Kyrgyzstan and Takhmina Khokimova from Tajikistan.
The publication “Analytical Centers in Central Asia: between science, society, and authority” was developed by the IWPR Representative Office in Central Asia together with analysts of the regional analytical platform CABAR.asia. (more…)
On April 24, an expert meeting was held in Dushanbe with the representatives of the main religious faiths, where was discussed their readiness to work under the threat of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, COVID-19 in Tajikistan. (more…)
