IWPR Kyrgyzstan: Training for NGOs on communication with mass media

On November 28th IWPR Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan conducted workshop “Effective communication with mass media: from communication strategy up to the action plan” for members of NGOs and human rights defenders in Bishkek.

The workshop was carried out within the project “Strengthening Capacities, Bridging Divides – Reducing Tensions across Central Asia” supported by Norway Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The participants were representatives of 16 Bishkek-based civil society and human rights organizations. The trainer was Irina Chistyakova, communications and PR expert, coordinator of CARESD Network (www.caresd.net).

The participants underlined the timeliness of the workshops in view of the pressure on the CSOs and anti-NGO attitude in Kyrgyzstan encouraged by state. According to the participants feedbacks this workshop provided tools for improvement their communication strategies and launching advocacy campaigns.
