The percentage of Muslims and Christians in Kazakhstan declines, according to the comparison of two national census of 2009 and 2021. 13 years ago, 70.2 per cent of census participants declared their Islamic identity, and only 69.3 per cent a year ago. (more…)

Every year orphanages in Kazakhstan release 2,000 orphans according to the Ministry of Education for 2013. Almost all of them go into “adulthood” unfit: they do not know about their rights, have problems with employment and have no idea about the family model. (more…)

Household expenditures show us a good picture of their living conditions. We want to see what households spend their total wages on since it is the main source of income for most people. We can assume that child care can be more challenging for single parents who are mostly women (97 percent) or for families where primary caregivers are grandparents. (more…)

The property market of Kazakhstan has been feverish for four months already. After record high indicators of transactions in early spring, the demand curve went down, yet prices per square metre continue to rise. According to experts, turbulence is affected not only by external factors caused by the conflict in Ukraine, but also by internal factors, i.e. termination of government programmes and increasing the sufficiency threshold when withdrawing pension “surpluses” from the Uniform Savings Pension Fund.
