The regional office of IWPR in Central Asia, within the framework of the project “Development of new media and digital journalism in Central Asia”, announces a tender to conduct a content analysis of fakes on social networks about COVID-19 in four Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
The tender is expected to select four research organizations / independent researchers and four educational institutions/professors of journalism faculties (one in each country).
Primary requirements
Research organizations / independent researchers:
- Experience in the field of media research, including media content analysis;
- Knowledge of the local language (Kazakh / Kyrgyz / Tajik / Uzbek) of the country where the candidate lives;
- Knowledge of the specifics of social networks;
- Interest in the research topic;
- Willingness to work in a team with journalism departments of universities in the region;
- Willingness and ability to attend educational sessions online.
Educational Institutes / Professors of Journalism Faculties
- To represent the Faculty of Journalism in one of the universities in Central Asia and be an active teacher;
- Research experience;
- The presence of a team of a group of 3-4 year/graduate students (3-4 people) interested in participating in the research (attach a resume of students);
- Knowledge of the specifics of social networks;
- Interest in the research topic;
- Willingness to work in teams with research institutes / independent researchers;
- Willingness and ability to attend educational sessions online.

- A letter of interest with a description of the content analysis vision (tools, procedures);
- Financial proposal;
- Organization profile or resume of experts/students who will be involved in the research process.
