The French Institute for Central Asian Studies (IFEAC) was established in 1993, operates under the administrative authority of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and received the status of a Division of Office and Research (CNRS) (USR 3140). The main mission of IFEAC is to support researchers from France and Central Asia who work in the region in archeology and in all disciplines of social and humanitarian science (history, sociology, ethnology, anthropology, economics, geography, etc.)
