Akylbaev Iskander

since 2014 he has been an employee of the Foreign Policy and International Security Department of the Kazakstan Institute for Strategic Studies at the President of the Republic of Kazakstan. He has graduated from master’s programme in international relations at the University of Tsukuba (Japan). He is a graduate of the programme of the J. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies (Germany), the Gorchakov Foundation of Public Diplomacy (Russia), and a member of the Asia-Pacific Forum of Young Leaders Program of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (USA). Research directions – regional security in Central Asia and Afghanistan, foreign policy of Turkey, USA, Japan in Central Asian region.
