The representative office of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in Central Asia presents an analytical note entitled “Sinology Schools in Central Asia: Problems and Prospects”. The purpose of the publication is an attempt to find the answers regarding the status and forecasts of the development of Sinology in the region.

In the first half of 2019, IWPR offices in Central Asia have organized meetings with experts on the status and development of Sinology in Central Asia in Almaty, Bishkek, Dushanbe and Tashkent. As a result of the events, a series of information and analytical articles was released on the CABAR.asia platform.

This publication contains expert analysis and an objective assessment of the status and development prospects of schools of Chinese studies in the Central Asian region. It is worth noting that the study is unique to Central Asia and was conducted for the first time.

The publication is useful to a wide range of readers: from decision-makers to experts and students studying the role of China in Central Asia.

We will be glad to receive your feedback on how useful this material was.
