On December 12-13, IWPR Tajikistan together with the Committee of Religion, Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and The Public Fund Civil Internet Policy Initiative (CIPI) Tajikistan held the Third Regional Forum on Preventing Violent Extremism in Digital Dimensions.
A Perspective from The Region: Experts Met in Nur-Sultan to Discuss the Cooperation of Central Asian Countries with China
The regional office of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) and the analytical platform CABAR.asia, together with the Kazakhstan’s China Study Centre, held the “China in Central Asia: A Perspective from the Region” international conference.
More than 80 religious leaders completed trainings conducted by IWPR in partnership with the Committee of Religion, Regulation of National Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in three districts of the GBAO: Darvoz, Vanj Districts and in the city of Khorog, from the 1st to 5th of October.
IWPR Tajikistan together with representatives of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan met with activists of the Vanj district of GBAO.
IWPR has awarded the inaugural prizes in a new competition that aims to promote the culture of investigative reporting across Kyrgyz and Tajik local media. Award-winners have published a range of groundbreaking stories. (more…)
The representative office of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting in Tajikistan in collaboration with the public organization “Office for Civil Liberties” and Ombudsman Office in Tajikistan conducted another roundtable “The rights of the servicemen” in Devashtich district (former Gonchi district) of Sughd region of Tajikistan with the support of the European Union and the government of Norway. A roundtable on “Military personnel rights” was organized in Rasht region by the Institute for War and Peace Reporting in Tajikistan in cooperation with Public Association “Citizens Freedoms’ Office” with the support the Ombudsman Office in the Republic of Tajikistan. (more…)
On April 14, at the initiative of the representative offices of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting, an online dialogue was held between civil society representatives and intellectuals of Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The theme of this Skype conference was the experience of Tajikistan in establishing peace after the civil war of 1992-1997, and the possibility of using this experience in Afghanistan. (more…)
Twelve leading journalists from Dushanbe, Sughd , Khatlon and Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblasts took part in the training “Specifics of journalist investigations and coverage of sensitive topics” held by IWPR Tajikistan on October 23 and 24th with the active support and financial assistance of International Alert.
