Animal rights activists in Tajikistan demand to toughen punishment for animal cruelty and stop shooting stray dogs.
Two and a half months ago, the Go Viral festival was moving from capital to capital of Central Asian states and gathered over 5 thousand enthusiasts, experts, beginning and future specialists in four domains – business, media, culture and technologies.
Fake accounts in Kyrgyzstan are not as effective as they used to be a few years ago, but they are still in demand not only to support the image of politicians, but also to dictate the agenda and regulate the information space. As long as media literacy of people is low, and conformism to selection of opinion is a decisive factor, bot and troll farms will be very popular, experts say. (more…)

A bright outburst of positive emotions and a powerful stimulus for self-development has been caused by the first in Turkmenistan Go Viral Festival that brought together almost 140 enthusiasts and experts in media, culture and technologies.
Kazakhstan has made amendments to the legislation and tightened responsibility for shooting of and cruelty to animals. However, animal rights defenders believe that they will not have a major impact on the issue without the systemic approach. (more…)

During the latest expert meeting on CABAR.asia analytical platform, the experts from four countries of the region (except Turkmenistan) discussed cybersecurity issues in Central Asian countries and measures the governments and civil society take to ensure it.
Over a fifteen hundred people have visited the Go Viral festival in Almaty in three days and have taken part in workshops, master classes and quests, expanding their networks and acquiring new knowledge.
